The rules for using TextSight. Written to be readable, not to trap you. If anything is unclear, ask.
Welcome. These Terms ("Terms") are a contract between you and Lacewing Technologies ("we", "us", "TextSight"). By using TextSight — the web app, browser extensions, mobile apps, or API — you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
You should also read our Privacy Policy and Content Handling Policy. Together with these Terms, they're the whole deal.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use TextSight. If you're under 18, you need parental consent. If you're using TextSight on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.
You're responsible for keeping your password secret and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized use: security@textsight.ai.
Multiple accounts to dodge our quotas isn't allowed. Teams should use Business or Enterprise plans.

The free plan is free forever. We may change its limits with 30 days' notice. We do our best not to.
Paid plans renew automatically each billing cycle until you cancel. Prices in USD; converted at your card's rate. Taxes added at checkout where applicable.
All payments are final and non-refundable. Paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings → Billing — cancellation stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of your current billing period. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or unused quota. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
We'll give you 60 days' notice before raising your plan's price. You can cancel before the new price takes effect.
Yearly billing saves 25% versus paying monthly; we pre-collect for 12 months. Promotional discounts (for example, launch or coupon codes) apply only as stated at the time of purchase — typically to your first billing term — after which the plan renews at its standard rate. Discounts are non-transferable and cannot be combined unless we state otherwise.
The affiliate program is operated for us on a third-party affiliate platform, and you join it by creating a partner account there rather than through your TextSight account. Applying is free. Applications are reviewed by us before they are accepted, and we may decline one without giving a reason. You earn nothing until an application is approved.
Commission. You earn 35% of every payment a customer you referred makes during their first 12 months, measured from their first paid payment, and 20% of every payment they make after that, for as long as they keep paying. Commission is calculated on the amount actually charged for the plan — after any discount, and including tax — in the currency the customer was billed in. A payment that falls on or after the 12-month point earns the 20% rate.
Attribution. Clicking your referral link stores a cookie in that visitor’s browser for 60 days. A sale is credited to you when the same visitor subscribes within that window. Attribution therefore depends on the visitor keeping that cookie: clearing it, blocking cookies, or buying from a different browser or device can prevent a sale being credited, and we cannot credit a sale we did not receive attribution for. Referring yourself, or an account you control, is not permitted and those commissions are voided.
Payment. Commissions are recorded in your partner dashboard, where they appear as pending and then paid, and where you provide the PayPal address we pay to — we cannot pay you without it. A commission is held for 30 days from the date of the customer’s payment before it becomes payable. Payouts are made by PayPal, monthly, once your payable balance exceeds US$50; a balance below that carries forward. We may change the payout method, minimum or schedule, and will show the current terms in the partner dashboard. Where a payment is reversed after the commission on it was already paid to you, the amount is carried as a negative balance against your future earnings rather than invoiced to you. We may withhold or void a commission where the underlying payment is refunded, charged back, or found to be fraudulent, or where the referral breached the promotion rules published on our affiliate page.
The platform. Running the program on a third-party platform means that platform receives the data needed to attribute and pay commissions, including your partner account details and the payments made by customers you referred. Its own terms govern your partner account with it, alongside these Terms.
Changes. We may change commission rates or program rules. Changes apply to payments made after the change takes effect and do not reduce commission already recorded. We may end the program, or a participant's place in it, at any time; commission already earned and payable remains payable.
TextSight, its name, logo, source code, design, the detection models, and our marketing copy are ours (or our licensors'). You don't get rights to any of those just by using TextSight.
Your account info is yours. The text you submit is yours. The output we generate (rewrites, scores, reports) is yours to use however you want — including commercially.
You keep all rights to text you submit. By using TextSight, you grant us a license narrowly limited to: processing your text to return a result, displaying it back to you, and (if you opt in) storing it for your scan history.
We do not use your text to train models. We do not share it with anyone. Full content handling →
API access is included with Business and Enterprise plans. Don't share your API keys publicly (e.g. in client-side JS). We may rate-limit, suspend, or revoke API keys involved in abuse.
If you build something on top of TextSight, we'd love to hear about it. Branded integrations get a free Enterprise account — talk to us.
We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime. Enterprise customers get a contractual 99.95% SLA with service credits for breaches. Planned maintenance is announced 72 hours in advance on status.textsight.ai.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TextSight is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to TextSight is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
None of the above limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or anything that can't be excluded under applicable consumer law.
You can cancel any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms (with notice when possible). On termination, we delete your account data within 30 days — except billing records we're legally required to keep.
We may update these Terms. Material changes get 30 days' notice by email. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance. Past versions are archived here.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes go to the courts of Maharashtra, India.
