AIDetectPlus alternative: what you keep and what you give up

AIDetectPlus sells one time credits rather than a subscription, at 1 credit per word, and bundles detection with a humanizer, a plagiarism checker, AI chat and essay tools. Those two decisions, pay per word and bundle everything, are what an alternative has to answer for.

The site describes its team as "a team of ex-openai researchers and educators". That is their statement about themselves and we cannot verify it, so we repeat it as a claim and leave it there. We found no registered company name or address on the pages we read.

Three further observations, purely as facts you should factor in:

  • The homepage shows more than one usage figure. A stats strip reads "7,000 Users Active Now", "50,000 Documents Analyzed" and "500+ Universities", while a nearby section reads "100k+" writers and "1.2M documents analyzed". We treat none of these as a verified number.
  • The pricing FAQ says "users with heavy needs usually go for our subscription", but no subscription price is published alongside the credit packs.
  • The most recent blog posts on the site are dated 26 and 29 December 2025, all bylined Hugh Kumar.

The difference that actually decides this

AIDetectPlus is built around rewriting as much as detecting. Its own feature copy says the humanizer will "pass all popular AI detectors", and the section heading above the feature grid reads "Never worry about tripping those AI detectors again". The detector's stated output is an explanation of why a passage "would trip AI detectors".

That is a coherent product for someone whose goal is to alter drafts until scores change. It is a different product from one built for the person who has to decide whether a submitted piece of writing is trustworthy. Neither of those users is wrong, but they need different tools, and the difference is not a feature list, it is what the tool is for.

If you are the second kind of user, a bundled humanizer is not neutral. It shapes the scoring, the reporting and the roadmap.

Where AIDetectPlus is still the better choice

You check text a few times a year. Credits that never expire beat every subscription in this category for irregular use. $9 for 5,000 words, spent once, with nothing renewing, is honest value for a person who checks a handful of documents a term. Any monthly plan, ours included, is worse for that pattern.

You want the whole student toolkit in one login. Plagiarism checking, citation generators in eight styles, essay outlining, PDF chat and a paraphraser sit alongside the detector. Replacing only the detector leaves you paying for the rest anyway.

You are paying in rupees. The currency selector offers INR directly, which avoids conversion and card surprises.

Your text is not in English. Their FAQ states support for multiple languages in both detection and humanizing. Ours does not do that at all, which we cover below.

You want an explanation, not just a number, at paragraph level. Their stated output is paragraph level analysis with reasoning. If that is what you found useful, keep it.

What to test before you switch anything

Whatever you compare, run the same five checks:

1. Paste a piece you wrote yourself, before AI existed in your workflow. An old essay or an email from 2019. Whatever score it returns is your false positive baseline. 2. Paste something written by a non native English speaker. English trained detectors, ours included, skew toward flagging that writing. Find out how badly before you trust any tool with a decision. 3. Check what happens at short lengths. Most tools get unreliable below a few sentences. 4. Check whether results are kept. A score you cannot retrieve next week is a score you cannot defend. 5. Read what the pricing renews as. Credits, seats and monthly caps behave very differently once you are actually busy.

Where TextSight fits

TextSight is a detector. There is no plagiarism database, no citation generator, no essay writer and no PDF chat, and if those are why you are on AIDetectPlus, this is not a like for like replacement.

What it does offer is a paste box with no account at all: 3 checks a day for anonymous visitors, pooled across the AI Detector and the Document Detector, capped at 1,000 words per check, with a 25 word minimum. A free account raises that to 60 checks a day at 5,000 words, and every signed in scan is saved to Scan History, free plans included, so you can go back to what you checked.

Results are bands rather than verdicts. Under 30 reads as likely human written, 30 to 69 as mixed signals, 70 and above as likely AI generated. Sentence level analysis and PDF export start at Starter, $9.99 a month or $7.49 billed annually. Pro at $19.99 or $14.99 annually adds the Chrome extension and REST API. Business at $39.99 or $29.99 annually adds teams and branded reports. Enterprise is $79.99 or $59.99 annually. File upload, URL scan and bulk scan are part of the product. Starter allows 200 checks a day and Pro and above are unlimited.

The limit you need to hear before you pay: our detector is an English only ensemble of DeBERTa, RoBERTa and ELECTRA, with a known false positive bias against writers who learned English as a second language. On non English text it should not be used at all, and on ESL writing its scores need human judgement on top. A tool that claims multilingual coverage genuinely covers a case we do not.

AIDetectPlus alternative alternatives, frequently asked.

How much does AIDetectPlus cost?
Its pricing section lists a free plan at $0 and credit packs at $9.00 for 5,000 credits, $14.00 for 20,000 and $24.00 for 40,000, each shown against a higher struck through price, with 1 credit equal to 1 word and credits described as never expiring. Enterprise is quoted as "Custom". Read 16 August 2026.
Do I need an account to try it?
No. The homepage demo box is labelled "Free - no account needed" and accepts up to 3,000 characters. The free plan itself asks you to sign up but states no credit card is required.
Does AIDetectPlus have a subscription?
Its FAQ refers to one for heavy users, but no subscription price appears next to the credit packs on the page we read. You would need to ask them.
Is a bundled humanizer a problem?
It depends who you are. If you are checking your own drafts, it is convenience. If you are checking someone else's work and may have to justify a decision, a tool whose marketing is built around scores changing is a harder thing to point at.
Can any of these tools prove authorship?
No. Detectors return probabilities and all of them produce false positives, most often on non native English writing. Use a score to open a conversation, and never as the sole basis for an accusation.
